Mr Doug Hay

Mr Doug Hay's practice covers the whole spectrum of spinal disorders, including degenerative conditions of neck and lumbar spine, tumour, infection, trauma and adult scoliosis.

Before his appointment as Consultant, Mr Hay undertook two prestigious fellowships in Spinal Surgery.  In 2006 he spent a year in Brisbane, Australia on the AO Fellowship in Spinal Surgery.  In 2007 after returning to the UK, Mr Hay spent six months at the Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham (one of the main spinal teaching institutions in the UK).  He was granted the BOA award as the top candidate at the interview.

First, qualifying from St Bartholomew's Medical School in London in 1994, Mr Hay was appointed to the East Anglian Higher Surgical Training Rotation in Trauma and Orthopaedics in 2001.  Though his elective practise is purely spinal now, his orthopaedic training has been broad, covering all the regions of the body.

Mr Hay has presented both nationally and internationally on many aspects of spinal surgery.
